Student wellbeing is at the heart of the mission and vision of Marsden Park Anglican College, where students are nurtured to develop a love of Christ, a love of life, a love of learning and a love for others, all in the context of a joyful, safe and encouraging school community.
Our holistic approach to student wellbeing includes formal pastoral care programs which focus on supporting students to build a greater sense of self and their own self-worth and confidence appreciating their unique strengths, grow their resilience and develop healthy relationship skills, together with the informal and ongoing nurture and support from the classroom teacher in Junior School and the Connect teachers in Senior School.
MPAC has a part-time School Counsellor, who provides short-term support to individual students who need additional resources to process challenges and manage specific concerns. Whilst maintaining confidentiality, the Counsellor works with parents, external health professionals and school staff, to support students through difficult circumstances. For ongoing or more complex matters, the school will recommend referral to external services.
All students can access the Counsellor. Students under the age of fourteen need parent approval, as appropriate. Parents can access a referral form, available on parent portal. Senior School students over the age of fourteen can self-refer.
